Statutory Governance
Statement of Intent
Governance Oversight and Policy Alignment
Institutional Mandate
The Trustee for Safeguarding, Joanne Fisher, operates as the primary agent of independent accountability and forensic oversight for Elevated Futures Education. Within our institutional framework, the Proprietor holds the statutory role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring that clinical safety and neuro-affirming practice are directed by the head of the organisation.
This statement defines the strategic intention to ensure that all governance activities remain in total alignment with the school’s existing statutory policies, with the Trustee providing the critical external verification of the Proprietor’s safeguarding actions.
Strategic Integration
1. Safeguarding and Child Protection
As the Proprietor serves as the DSL, the Trustee will perform independent forensic reviews of the Sentinel safeguarding logs. This process ensures that the Proprietor’s decisions and multi-agency collaborations are consistent with the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and the latest KCSIE guidance. This dual-layer approach ensures that our response to concerns remains restorative, rapid, and clinically sound.
2. Safer Recruitment and the Single Central Record
Joanne Fisher is mandated to perform deep-dive audits of the Single Central Record (SCR). By aligning this oversight with the Safer Recruitment Policy, the Trustee verifies the Proprietor’s vetting procedures, ensuring that every professional engaged with the sanctuary has undergone the full battery of statutory checks required to protect the learning environment.
3. Curriculum Delivery and Quality of Education
The Trustee will monitor the implementation of the Curriculum Policy, ensuring that the five-year thematic curriculum is being realised with neuro-affirming fidelity. By reviewing the Dynamic Development Plans (DDPs) and the Scheme of Work, the Trustee verifies that the Proprietor’s academic vision is meeting the specialised needs of our students. This oversight ensures that the Elevation Arc is a functional reality for every young person.
4. Behaviour, Regulation, and Relationship Policy
The Trustee will monitor the efficacy of the therapeutic approach to regulation directed by the Proprietor. By reviewing data on low-arousal transitions and co-regulation wins, the Trustee ensures that the Behaviour Policy is being implemented with clinical fidelity, moving away from deficit-based discipline toward strengths-based agency.
Accountability and Transparency
All oversight activities performed by the Trustee will be recorded within the Proprietor’s Termly Audit Report. This document provides the formal evidence required by regulatory bodies to demonstrate that governance is active, informed, and provides a robust check on the Proprietor’s DSL functions. By working within the existing policy suite, Joanne Fisher ensures that Elevated Futures Education remains a safe base for awakening, where every statutory and educational requirement is met with clinical precision and restorative intent.
