Clinical Framework | EFE-JD-COACH-2026

Grade: Specialist Practitioner Scale

Salary: Competitive based on level of expertise

Hours: Full-time / Term Time Plus

Responsible to: Principal / Inclusion Lead

Job Purpose: The Architect of Co-regulation

You are the Architect of Co-regulation. You bring a forensic, Level 5 understanding of neurodivergence, a profound ability to read the unspoken language of the nervous system, and the unshakable presence required to support a child in the ‘Altered State’. By leveraging your strengths in relational safety and clinical curiosity, you bridge the gap between dysregulation and the Elevation Arc.

At Elevated Futures Education, we recognise that behaviour is not a choice, but a biological response to environment and perceived safety. Your role as a Neurocoach is to act as the school’s primary specialist in neuro-affirming intervention, outreach, and coaching. You will work at the intersection of clinical theory and classroom practice, ensuring that every pupil feels safe enough to learn.

You are not a “behaviour manager”; you are a “nervous system translator.” You will support staff and pupils alike to understand the “why” behind the “what,” ensuring that dysregulation is met with unconditional appreciation and restorative expertise rather than exclusionary consequence.

Strengths and Knowledge
Forensic Neuro-Curiosity

You bring a high-level academic and practical understanding of neurodiversity (Level 5+). You possess the strength to look beyond a pupil’s presentation to identify the sensory, cognitive, or emotional barriers at play. You see the child’s superpower even when it is obscured by the fog of an ‘Altered State’.

The Strength of the ‘Still Point’

In moments of high dysregulation, you are the “still point” in the storm. You have the emotional regulation and clinical grounding to provide a safe harbour for pupils experiencing a meltdown or shutdown, utilising your knowledge of the Polyvagal Theory to bring them back to a state of relational safety.

Key Responsibilities

Specialist Intervention & Coaching

Logo
1:1 Clinical Coaching

Utilise your strengths in active listening and neuro-affirming practice to deliver targeted 1:1 coaching sessions. You will help pupils understand their own neuro-type, developing personalised self-regulation toolkits that respect their sensory profile. These sessions are designed to move pupils through the Elevation Arc by celebrating their competence and agency.

The Dynamic Development Plan (DDP)

Play a lead role in the creation and monitoring of DDP profiles. You will use the Dynamic Insight Screener to identify specific “points of friction” for pupils and design interventions that proactively address these. You will ensure that the DDP is a living document that accurately reflects the child’s journey toward self-actualisation.

Small Group Socio-Emotional Literacy

Design and lead small group sessions focused on restorative communication and mutual understanding. You will foster an environment of appreciation where pupils can explore their identities and build relational skills without the pressure of neuro-typical expectations.

Intervention Performance Standards
Attitude Aptitude Functional Capability
Approaching every session with unconditional appreciation and a belief that “children do well if they can.” Advanced ability to translate Level 5 neuro-clinical theory into child-friendly, asset-based coaching strategies. Maintain 100% up-to-date DDP profiles with clear, measurable impact data for assigned caseload.

Key Responsibilities

Outreach and ‘The Altered State’

Logo
Classroom Outreach & Staff Coaching

You will spend a significant portion of your time “in the field,” supporting teachers to implement neuro-affirming strategies in real-time. You will coach staff on environmental attunement—identifying sensory triggers in the classroom before they lead to dysregulation. Your outreach ensures that the school’s clinical sanctuary is maintained in every learning space.

Navigating ‘The Altered State’

When a pupil enters an ‘Altered State’ (crisis/meltdown/shutdown), you are the primary responder. You will use your Level 5 expertise to facilitate co-regulation, ensuring the physical and psychological safety of the pupil. You will model the move from “crisis” to “restorative repair,” ensuring that no child feels shamed for their biological responses.

Restorative De-briefing and Repair

Following an episode of significant dysregulation, you will lead the restorative repair process for both the pupil and the staff involved. You will use these moments as clinical learning opportunities, analysing the “arousal arc” to prevent future occurrences and strengthen relational bonds.

Outreach Performance Standards
Attitude Aptitude Functional Capability
Remaining calm and restorative during the ‘Altered State’, refusing to engage in power struggles or compliance-based tactics. High-level skills in non-verbal de-escalation and situational analysis of sensory/environmental triggers. Provide weekly coaching feedback to classroom teams, evidenced through the EFE Coaching Cycle records.

Awakening the Neuro-affirming Workforce

Logo
Modelling Mutuality and Appreciation

As a Neurocoach, you are a leader of the school’s restorative culture. You demonstrate **Appreciation** by identifying the strengths in every child, even those with the most complex presentations. You foster **Mutuality** by working alongside teachers as a partner in their professional growth, rather than an external “expert.”

Clinical Accountability
Attitude Aptitude Functional Capability
Value data and clinical evidence as tools for advocacy. Believe that “unmet needs” are the root of all challenge. Advanced proficiency in neuro-diversity assessment tools and the ability to synthesise clinical reports for staff. Maintain a forensic chronology of interventions on the SENTINEL portal with 100% accuracy and detail.
Relentless Curiosity & Self-Reflection

You will engage in regular clinical supervision to maintain your own regulation and professional integrity. You will bring a spirit of inquiry to every challenge, constantly researching new neuro-affirming methodologies and sharing your findings with the wider team to ensure EFE remains at the forefront of specialist education.
