Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
Principal
Overall responsibility for the quality of education, behaviour, safeguarding, and leadership, ensures compliance with Independent School Standards and the Ofsted framework, Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or oversees safeguarding arrangements, leads vision, culture, and continuous improvement.
Deputy Principal
Leads day to day operations and behaviour culture, oversees curriculum implementation and staff performance, monitors attendance, engagement, and student outcomes, supports safeguarding and acts as Deputy DSL where required.
SENCO / Assistant Principal
Leads SEND provision and inclusion strategy, oversees EHCP implementation, reviews, and interventions, ensures compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, coordinates multi agency support and specialist input, supports staff with adaptive teaching strategies.
Teaching Team
English Teacher (Literacy Lead)
Delivers functional literacy and communication skills, supports reading, writing, and oracy across the curriculum, tracks progress and adapts learning to meet individual needs.
Maths Teacher (Finance/Numeracy Lead)
Delivers functional maths and applied numeracy, embeds financial literacy and real life maths skills, supports learners to develop independence in numeracy.
Science Teacher
Delivers practical, engaging science curriculum, develops understanding of real world scientific concepts, encourages curiosity, experimentation, and critical thinking.
Arts and Creative Tutor
Delivers an inclusive and engaging creative curriculum, encourages self expression and sensory exploration through diverse artistic mediums, links creative projects to individual student superpowers and interests to foster confidence and autonomy.
Student Support Team
Careers Mentor
Leads CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance), supports progression pathways into education, employment, or training, builds employer links and real world opportunities.
Mentor / Student Leader
Acts as a positive role model for behaviour and engagement, supports student voice and leadership development, reinforces expectations, routines, and school culture.
Neuro Support Coaches (1:1)
Provide individualised support tailored to neurodiverse needs, support emotional regulation, focus, and engagement, work alongside teaching staff to enable access to learning, key role in maintaining low student to staff ratio.
Specialist & External Support
Speech and Language Therapist (SALT)
Assesses and supports speech, language, and communication needs, provides strategies for staff and targeted interventions.
External Agencies (EP, CAMHS, Social Care, YJS)
Provide multi agency support and safeguarding input, inform intervention strategies and risk management, contribute to EHCPs and the review process.
